A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR June 2021

Dear Friends,

If the word “unprecedented” best reflects 2020, the word “pivot” may top the list for 2021. As we conclude the first year of our strategic plan, the Catholic Foundation has made several significant pivots over the past year to move the Foundation forward, better serve our fundholders, and make the greatest impact possible on Catholic ministries. One of the most recent – and most notable – developments is the way in which the Foundation structures the talent and passion within the community for the benefit of our greater mission.

The Foundation has pivoted from an advisory board to now utilizing three working councils.  While each council – Community Impact, Donor Services, Investment & Audit – has its own purpose and responsibilities, they all contribute something uniquely important to elevate the Foundation’s mission and impact. Through this structure, the councils will:

  • Assess and serve the social and spiritual needs of the Catholic community
  • Share heartfelt and transformative stories made possible by Catholic philanthropy
  • Raise awareness of the products, services, and experiences provided by the Foundation
  • Help inspire generosity in others
  • Offer the voice and perspectives of the donor experience
  • Provide counsel for the investment of the financial assets of the Foundation
  • Assist the Board in discharging its responsibilities relating to independent oversight, financial reporting, budget, corporate controls and related matters.

I am grateful for the depth of experience, perspective, faith, and enthusiasm each council member brings, and I look forward to the significant role the councils will play in the Foundation’s growth.  As we begin our work together, we ask for your prayers as we strive to meet the spiritual, educational, and social needs of our community – today, tomorrow, and forever.

Sincerely,

Greg Deja
